ABOUT CANDINE

Candine is a Spencer 44 ketch.

Designed by John Brandlmeyer, and built in Richmond, BC in 1969 when fibreglass boat construction was in its infancy, her hull is many times stronger and heavier then anything produced by today’s standards. We do not win too many races, but her deep full keel, large rudder, and 9.000 lbs of external lead ballast make her extremely seaworthy and stable in any sea conditions. Previous owners tell us that in her early years she sailed to Australia. Since 2002 she has been extensively refitted and sailed again across the Pacific, and back, twice.

Now, in her fiftieth year, Candine once again plunges into her Pacific playground, taking Tim, Nora and Myst on the next voyage.
